Hilderbrand Leads Hamline to Reconciling University Status

First-year student Emily Hilderbrand drove the process of Hamline becoming the first Reconciling University in Minnesota and the second in the nation. A Reconciling University is a Methodist-affiliated institution that explicitly welcomes and celebrates people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and gender expressions. Hamline is the first Reconciling University in Minnesota and the second in the nation.

Hamline scholar-athletes from Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country, Football, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer and Volleyball were named to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Academic All-Conference list for the fall 2019 semester. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must meet sport-specific athlete requirements, have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better, and have been at their current institution for at least two semesters.

Inducted to Phi Beta Kappa

The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the oldest honor society in the United States for undergraduates in the liberal arts and sciences. The Society has played an important part in the intellectual history of the nation for more than two hundred years, and has counted among its members leading scholars, justices of the supreme court, business leaders and others. Hamline's chapter, Phi Beta Kappa, Zeta of Minnesota, which was chartered in 1973, is one of only 286 in the United States.

Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress (HUSC) is the student government of Hamline University. HUSC works with faculty, staff, and administration to make sure students' voices are heard. Another part of HUSC's job is the management and distribution of funds to the many student organizations on campus.

Mulitple National Recognitions for Hockey

Bre Simon of Elk River has been named the D-III Women's Hockey Player of the Year by USCHO.com. She also won the Laura Hurd Award from the American Hockey College Association and was a first team West All-American for the second year in a row. Simon has set the Hamline Women's Hockey record for points scored with 147 (75 goals, 72 assists) in just 86 career games. This past season, she led all D-III women pucksters with 27 goals and 37 assists.

Kalbow Named to Elite 90 by NCAA for Division III Women's Hockey

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring an individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport while also achieving the highest academic standard among her peers. Kolbow has the highest cumulative GPA of the four teams playing for the D-III championship this weekend.
